Effect. Renters who funded a lease did not get a machine. Deposits were returned automatically, but the rental did not happen and the time was lost.

Cause. Lease numbering restarted when the settlement contract was replaced, so new leases collided with the numbers of older ones. The network rejected its own confirmations as belonging to a different lease.

Fix. A lease is now identified by the contract that issued it as well as by its number. A separate alarm now asks the chain, rather than our own records, whether anyone has paid and received nothing.

Readings are taken every five minutes. A day shows the worst reading it recorded, because averaging an outage across a day produces a number that looks like a good day. Days before recording began are marked unknown rather than counted as healthy.

Prism publishes no single uptime figure and offers no availability commitment. Capacity is sourced as demand arrives, so an empty marketplace at a quiet hour is normal and is not counted as an outage. Settled leases are listed on the receipts page.
